Students learned the skill of the week: homographs and practiced fluency. Students then reviewed chapters 23-24 and discussed major themes. They then read ch. 25-26 in class. For homework, they need to read ch. 27 for their final reading quiz Thursday. Wednesday:
Robotics Final -Students reviewed homographs. Thursday:
Students reviewed homographs and completed their fluency reads. They then taught the teacher what the climax of a story is. Students read and analyzed ch. 28 for climax. Friday:
Students took a quiz on homographs. They then finished reading ch. 30-31 of TKAM and analyzed final themes. They also did a final fluency read. |

Students learned the skill of the week: homographs and practiced fluency. Students reviewed ch. 13 and discussed the difference between round and flat characters. While reading ch. 14-15 they analyzed if Bruno has changed. Wednesday:
Robotics Final -Students reviewed homographs and then used class time to review major concepts. Students read ch. 14 in groups and answered discussion questions. For homework, they need to finish reading ch. 14 and 15. Thursday:
Students reviewed homographs and fluency. They used class time to finish answering ch. 14 discussion questions and work on Task 6 of their brochure project. For homework, ch. 15 must be read. Friday:
Students took a quiz on homographs and completed fluency for the week. Students then reviewed theme. After watching a video about inclusiveness and diversity, students applied those concepts to ch. 16. For homework, they need to read ch. 17-18 and think about climax. |

Students reviewed homographs and fluency. Students then worked through 6 themes that will prepare them for their final writing assignment. Friday:
Students took a quiz on homographs and completed fluency for the week. Students then continued working on theme connections. They received directions for their final essay and began brainstorming. For homework, they should decide on a theme and bullet point two pieces of evidence from each story that represent that theme. |
